Each year, BERC selects a program participant in each category to be awarded Business of the Year status. These awards recognize top environmentally proactive Sacramento area businesses whose work practices demonstrate an outstanding commitment to enhancing sustainability. Prior-year award winners have included such well-known organizations as Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., the Sacramento Kings, Republic Services, and the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS).
